MULTI VERSE

Secret Wars, the comic book, involves the collision of multiple universes. This series is my collision of the universes that inspire me.

At an early age my two older cousins, Junior and Lamonte, got me hooked on comics, with my dad adding fuel to the fire inside me by constantly getting me comic books. I was addicted to them, staring at the covers, trying to recreate them with colored pencils and failing quite miserably with my attempts. Being dyslexic, words did not come easy, so I focused on the images and created my own stories. As a teen I wanted to be a comic book illustrator but soon realized that I could never properly draw a figure and well, that dream went out the window. Though I did not follow in that path, comic books taught me a great deal about line work and ways to use lines to create dimension and shadows, which has evolved my illustrative approach into what it is today. With age, magazine, book and music album covers stand out to me more and I always thought how one day I would love to create my own cover. Fast forward and here I am creating an ongoing series of illustrations on 90+ blank comic book variant covers, inspired by hip-hop, comics, Playboy, Time, National Geographic, and more.
